“So now, children, ¹  listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways.

Abandon your foolish ways ¹  so that you may live, ²  and proceed ³  in the way of understanding.”

A wicked person receives a bribe secretly ¹  to pervert ²  the ways of justice.

The one who obeys commandments guards ¹  his life; the one who despises his ways ²  will die. ³ 

lest you learn ¹  his ways and entangle yourself in a snare. ² 

Give me your heart, my son, ¹  and let your eyes observe my ways;

Do not give your strength ¹  to women, nor your ways ²  to that which ruins ³  kings.

She watches over ¹  the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. ² 

נ (Nun) Let us carefully examine our ways, ¹  and let us return to the Lord.

But his sons did not follow ¹  his ways. Instead, they made money dishonestly, accepted bribes, and perverted justice. ² 

The Israelites followed in the sinful ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat and did not repudiate ¹  them.

Even if he slays me, I will hope in him; ¹  I will surely ²  defend ³  my ways to his face!

So they say to God, ‘Turn away from us! We do not want to ¹  know your ways. ² 

Whatever you decide ¹  on a matter, it will be established for you, and light will shine on your ways.

God ¹  may let them rest in a feeling of security, ²  but he is constantly watching ³  all their ways. ⁴ 

For his eyes are on the ways of an individual, he observes all a person’s ¹  steps.

Who has prescribed his ways for him? Or said to him, ‘You have done what is wicked’?

Tremble with fear and do not sin! ¹  Meditate as you lie in bed, and repent of your ways! ²  (Selah)

For they do not try to make peace with others, ¹  but plan ways to deceive those who are unsuspecting. ² 

All who hate me whisper insults about me to one another; ¹  they plan ways to harm me.
