Whenever ¹  you enter a town or village, ²  find out who is worthy there ³  and stay with them ⁴  until you leave.

In those days ¹  Mary got up and went hurriedly into the hill country, to a town of Judah, ² 

So ¹  he went down to Capernaum, ²  a town ³  in Galilee, and on the Sabbath he began to teach the people. ⁴ 

Soon ¹  afterward ²  Jesus ³  went to a town ⁴  called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went with him.

When ¹  the herdsmen saw what had happened, they ran off and spread the news ²  in the town ³  and countryside.

Heal ¹  the sick in that town ²  and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God ³  has come upon ⁴  you!’

But whenever ¹  you enter a town ²  and the people ³  do not welcome ⁴  you, go into its streets ⁵  and say,

I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom ¹  than for that town! ² 

Then the woman left her water jar, went off into the town and said to the people, ¹ 

Run there quickly, ¹  for I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” (This incident explains why the town was called Zoar.) ² 

Here I am, standing by the spring, ¹  and the daughters of the people ²  who live in the town are coming out to draw water.

The grazing lands around the towns that you will give to the Levites must extend to a distance of 500 yards ¹  from the town wall.

When he looked up and saw the traveler ¹  in the town square, the old man said, “Where are you heading? Where do you come from?”

In their streets they wear sackcloth; on their roofs and in their town squares all of them wail, they fall down weeping.

Ariel is as good as dead ¹  – Ariel, the town David besieged! ²  Keep observing your annual rituals, celebrate your festivals on schedule. ³ 

The one who builds a city by bloodshed is as good as dead ¹  – he who starts ²  a town by unjust deeds.
