He made the moon to mark the months, ¹  and the sun sets according to a regular schedule. ² 

The earth quakes ¹  before them; ²  the sky reverberates. ³  The sun and the moon grow dark; the stars refuse to shine. ⁴ 

But when the sun came up, they were scorched, and because they did not have sufficient root, they withered.

And he was transfigured before them. ¹  His ²  face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.

Let them be ¹  like a snail that melts away as it moves along! ²  Let them be like ³  stillborn babies ⁴  that never see the sun!

“Who ¹  is this who appears ²  like the dawn? ³  Beautiful as the moon, ⁴  bright ⁵  as the sun, awe-inspiring ⁶  as the stars in procession?” ⁷
