I asked the messenger who was speaking to me, “Where are they taking the basket?”

Then I asked the angelic messenger ¹  who was speaking with me, “What are these, sir?”

Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.

Jesus said to her, “I, the one speaking to you, am he.”

Jesus told him, “You have seen him; he ¹  is the one speaking with you.” ² 

His disciples said, “Look, now you are speaking plainly ¹  and not in obscure figures of speech! ² 

Completely baffled, they said, ¹  “Aren’t ²  all these who are speaking Galileans?

for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising ¹  God. Then Peter said,

And if someone sitting down receives a revelation, the person who is speaking should conclude.

This mystery is great – but I am actually ¹  speaking with reference to Christ and the church.

Now at that very moment his disciples came back. ¹  They were shocked ²  because he was speaking ³  with a woman. However, no one said, “What do you want?” ⁴  or “Why are you speaking with her?”

The Lord went on his way ¹  when he had finished speaking ²  to Abraham. Then Abraham returned home. ³ 

While he was still speaking with them, Rachel arrived with her father’s sheep, for she was tending them. ¹ 

(Now ¹  they did not know that Joseph could understand them, ²  for he was speaking through an interpreter.) ³ 

I am speaking to you ¹  because you are the ones who saw all the great deeds of the Lord!

When the Lord’s messenger finished speaking these words to all the Israelites, the people wept loudly. ¹ 

“If someone ¹  should attempt ²  a word with you, will you be impatient? ³  But who can refrain from speaking ⁴ ?

He says: ¹  “Listen my people! I am speaking! Listen Israel! I am accusing you! ²  I am God, your God!

Speaking recklessly ¹  is like the thrusts of a sword, but the words ²  of the wise bring ³  healing. ⁴ 

Listen and warn ¹  the family ²  of Jacob! ³  The sovereign Lord, the God who commands armies, ⁴  is speaking!
