(For they were afraid, and he did not know what to say.) ¹ 

Sadducees ¹  (who say there is no resurrection) ²  also came to him and asked him, ³ 

Jesus began to say to them, “Watch out ¹  that no one misleads you.

So ¹  Pilate asked him, “Are you the king ²  of the Jews?” He replied, ³  “You say so.” ⁴ 

Whenever ¹  you enter a house, ²  first say, ‘May peace ³  be on this house!’

plotting against ¹  him, to catch ²  him in something he might say.

for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment ¹  what you must say.” ² 

They will say, ¹  ‘This man ²  began to build and was not able to finish!’ ³ 

If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs ¹  it.’”

So ¹  Pilate asked Jesus, ²  “Are you the king ³  of the Jews?” He replied, “You say so.” ⁴ 

When John’s ¹  two disciples heard him say this, ²  they followed Jesus. ³ 

(I do not accept ¹  human testimony, but I say this so that you may be saved.)

“I have many more things to say to you, ¹  but you cannot bear ²  them now.

What shall we say then? Are we to remain in sin so that grace may increase?

What shall we say then? Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not!

Then you will say, “The branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.”

so that no one can say that you were baptized in my name!

I say this so that no one will deceive you through arguments ¹  that sound reasonable. ² 

encourage your hearts and strengthen you ¹  in every good thing you do or say. ² 

Whenever ¹  they hand you over for trial, do not worry about how to speak or what to say, ²  for what you should say will be given to you at that time. ³
