Then ¹  Jesus ²  told them a parable to show them they should always ³  pray and not lose heart. ⁴ 

“Two men went up ¹  to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee ²  and the other a tax collector. ³ 

When he came to the place, ¹  he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” ² 

So ¹  he said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you will not fall into temptation!” ² 

Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?

And I pray this, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insight

We always ¹  give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,

So I want the men ¹  to pray ²  in every place, lifting up holy hands ³  without anger or dispute.

Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone in good spirits? He should sing praises.

When ¹  you pray, do not babble repetitiously like the Gentiles, because they think that by their many words they will be heard.

And after he sent the crowds away, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.

Then little children were brought to him for him to lay his hands on them and pray. ¹  But the disciples scolded those who brought them. ² 

Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”

For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Then ¹  they said to him, “John’s ²  disciples frequently fast ³  and pray, ⁴  and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, ⁵  but yours continue to eat and drink.” ⁶ 

Now ¹  it was during this time that Jesus ²  went out to the mountain ³  to pray, and he spent all night ⁴  in prayer to God. ⁵ 

Now ¹  about eight days ²  after these sayings, Jesus ³  took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up the mountain to pray.

Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord ¹  that he may perhaps forgive you for the intent of your heart. ² 

But Simon replied, ¹  “You pray to the Lord for me so that nothing of what you have said may happen to ²  me.”

About noon ¹  the next day, while they were on their way and approaching ²  the city, Peter went up on the roof ³  to pray.
