Even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night ¹  and finds them alert, ²  blessed are those slaves! ³ 

I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. ¹ 

Won’t ¹  God give justice to his chosen ones, who cry out ²  to him day and night? ³  Will he delay ⁴  long to help them?

So ¹  every day Jesus ²  was teaching in the temple courts, ³  but at night he went and stayed ⁴  on the Mount of Olives. ⁵ 

We must perform the deeds ¹  of the one who sent me ²  as long as ³  it is daytime. Night is coming when no one can work.

Nicodemus, the man who had previously come to Jesus ¹  at night, ²  accompanied Joseph, ³  carrying a mixture of myrrh and aloes ⁴  weighing about seventy-five pounds. ⁵ 

but Saul learned of their plot against him. ¹  They were also watching ²  the city gates ³  day and night so that they could kill him.

But his disciples took him at night and let him down through an opening ¹  in the wall by lowering him in a basket. ² 

A ¹  vision appeared to Paul during the night: A Macedonian man was standing there ²  urging him, ³  “Come over ⁴  to Macedonia ⁵  and help us!”

At ¹  that hour of the night he took them ²  and washed their wounds; ³  then ⁴  he and all his family ⁵  were baptized right away. ⁶ 

The brothers sent Paul and Silas off to Berea ¹  at once, during the night. When they arrived, ²  they went to the Jewish synagogue. ³ 

The Lord said to Paul by a vision ¹  in the night, ²  “Do not be afraid, ³  but speak and do not be silent,

Therefore be alert, ¹  remembering that night and day for three years I did not stop warning ²  each one of you with tears.

a promise ¹  that our twelve tribes hope to attain as they earnestly serve God ²  night and day. Concerning this hope the Jews are accusing me, ³  Your Majesty! ⁴ 

When the fourteenth night had come, while we were being driven ¹  across the Adriatic Sea, ²  about midnight the sailors suspected they were approaching some land. ³ 

The night has advanced toward dawn; the day is near. So then we must lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the weapons of light.

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread,

We pray earnestly night and day to see you in person ¹  and make up what may be lacking in your faith.

For you know quite well that the day of the Lord ¹  will come in the same way as a thief in the night. ² 

For you all are sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness.
