They had breastplates ¹  like iron breastplates, and the sound of their wings was like the noise of many horse-drawn chariots charging into battle.

Then ¹  I saw another beast ²  coming up from the earth. He ³  had two horns like a lamb, ⁴  but ⁵  was speaking like a dragon.

The city possesses ¹  the glory of God; its brilliance is like a precious jewel, like a stone of crystal-clear jasper. ² 

Do ¹  not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls.

Whoever then humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

And whoever welcomes ¹  a child like this in my name welcomes me.

His ¹  appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.

The ¹  guards were shaken and became like dead men because they were so afraid of him.

He also said, “The kingdom of God is like someone who spreads seed on the ground.

Regaining his sight ¹  he said, “I see people, but they look like trees walking.”

“To what then should I compare the people ¹  of this generation, and what are they like?

Go! I ¹  am sending you out like lambs ²  surrounded by wolves. ³ 

So ¹  he said to them, “I saw ²  Satan fall ³  like lightning ⁴  from heaven.

Woe to you! ¹  You are like unmarked graves, and people ²  walk over them without realizing it!” ³ 

Thus Jesus ¹  asked, ²  “What is the kingdom of God ³  like? ⁴  To ⁵  what should I compare it?

“Simon, ¹  Simon, pay attention! ²  Satan has demanded to have you all, ³  to sift you like wheat, ⁴ 

But these words seemed like pure nonsense ¹  to them, and they did not believe them.

So I do not run uncertainly or box like one who hits only air.

For they refreshed my spirit and yours. So then, recognize people like this.
