They say, “How does God know what we do? Is the sovereign one aware of what goes on?” ¹ 

for one who goes astray ¹  is an abomination ²  to the Lord, but he reveals ³  his intimate counsel ⁴  to the upright.

The one who heeds instruction ¹  is on the way to ²  life, but the one who rejects ³  rebuke goes astray.

The one who goes about slandering others ¹  reveals ²  secrets, but the one who is trustworthy ³  conceals a matter.

Wine ¹  is a mocker ²  and strong drink is a brawler; whoever goes astray by them is not wise. ³ 

“It’s worthless! It’s worthless!” ¹  says the buyer, ²  but when he goes on his way, he boasts. ³ 

The one who goes about gossiping ¹  reveals secrets; therefore do not associate ²  with someone who is always opening his mouth. ³ 

Where there is no wood, a fire goes out, and where there is no gossip, ¹  contention ceases. ² 

But remember me ¹  when it goes well for you, and show ²  me kindness. ³  Make mention ⁴  of me to Pharaoh and bring me out of this prison, ⁵ 

If you do take ¹  the garment of your neighbor in pledge, you must return it to him by the time the sun goes down, ² 

When the sun goes down he will be clean, and afterward he may eat from the holy offerings, because they are his food.

“‘This is the law for cases of jealousy, ¹  when a wife, while under her husband’s authority, goes astray and defiles herself,

As ¹  a cloud is dispersed and then disappears, ²  so the one who goes down to the grave ³  does not come up again. ⁴ 

“But ¹  if I speak, my pain is not relieved, ²  and if I refrain from speaking – how ³  much of it goes away?

The clods of the torrent valley ¹  are sweet to him; behind him everybody follows in procession, and before him goes a countless throng.

Thick clouds are a veil for him, so he does not see us, ¹  as he goes back and forth in the vault ²  of heaven.’ ³ 

¹ “You say, ²  ‘He is foam ³  on the face of the waters; ⁴  their portion of the land is cursed so that no one goes to their vineyard. ⁵ 

It emerges from the distant horizon, ¹  and goes from one end of the sky to the other; ²  nothing can escape ³  its heat.

Suddenly he went ¹  after her like an ox that goes to the slaughter, like a stag prancing into a trapper’s snare ² 

Do not look on the wine when it is red, when it sparkles ¹  in the cup, when it goes down smoothly. ²
