Her ¹  spirit returned, ²  and she got up immediately. Then ³  he told them to give her something to eat.

And I will say to myself, ¹  “You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’

He ¹  was longing to eat ²  the carob pods ³  the pigs were eating, but ⁴  no one gave him anything.

And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired ¹  to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

For I tell you, I will not eat it again ¹  until it is fulfilled ²  in the kingdom of God.” ³ 

So the disciples began to say ¹  to one another, “No one brought him anything ²  to eat, did they?” ³ 

He became hungry and wanted to eat, but while they were preparing the meal, a trance came over him. ¹ 

It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything that causes your brother to stumble. ¹ 

Look at the people of Israel. ¹  Are not those who eat the sacrifices partners in the altar?

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.

For when it is time to eat, everyone proceeds with his own supper. One is hungry and another becomes drunk.

A person should examine himself first, ¹  and in this way ²  let him eat the bread and drink of the cup.

We have an altar that those who serve in the tabernacle have no right to eat from.

So then, don’t worry saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’

At that time Jesus went through the grain fields on a Sabbath. His ¹  disciples were hungry, and they began to pick heads of wheat ²  and eat them.

“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their ¹  hands when they eat.” ² 

For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink.

While ¹  they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it, gave it to his disciples, and said, “Take, eat, this is my body.”

Send them away so that they can go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy something for themselves to eat.”

(For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they perform a ritual washing, ¹  holding fast to the tradition of the elders.
