What defiles a person is not what goes into the mouth; it is what ¹  comes out of the mouth that defiles a person.”

For I tell you, you will not see me from now until you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’” ¹ 

For just like the lightning ¹  comes from the east and flashes to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

“When ¹  the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

“He saved others, but he cannot save himself! He is the king of Israel! If he comes down ¹  now from the cross, we will believe in him!

These are the ones on the path where the word is sown: Whenever they hear, immediately Satan ¹  comes and snatches the word ²  that was sown in them.

But ¹  they have no root in themselves and do not endure. ²  Then, when trouble or persecution comes because of the word, immediately they fall away.

There is nothing outside of a person that can defile him by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles him.” ¹ 

Both those who went ahead and those who followed kept shouting, “Hosanna! ¹  Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! ² 

“Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and puts them into practice ¹  – I will show you what he is like:

Even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night ¹  and finds them alert, ²  blessed are those slaves! ³ 

I tell you, he will give them justice speedily. ¹  Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith ²  on earth?”

For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit ¹  of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” ² 

This is the one about whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is greater than I am, ¹  because he existed before me.’

But the one who practices the truth comes to the light, so that it may be plainly evident that his deeds have been done in God. ¹ 

The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (the one called Christ); ¹  “whenever he ²  comes, he will tell ³  us everything.” ⁴ 

I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept ¹  me. If someone else comes in his own name, you will accept ²  him.

How can you believe, if you accept praise ¹  from one another and don’t seek the praise ²  that comes from the only God? ³ 

Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never send away. ¹ 

It is written in the prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ ¹  Everyone who hears and learns from the Father ²  comes to me.
