On the vine there were three branches. As it budded, its blossoms opened and its clusters ripened into grapes.

Joseph is a fruitful bough, ¹  a fruitful bough near a spring whose branches ²  climb over the wall.

Consider Assyria, ¹  a cedar in Lebanon, ²  with beautiful branches, like a forest giving shade, and extremely tall; its top reached into the clouds.

Therefore it grew taller than all the trees of the field; its boughs grew large and its branches grew long, because of the plentiful water in its shoots. ¹ 

It was beautiful in its loftiness, in the length of its branches; for its roots went down deep to plentiful waters.

On its ruins all the birds of the sky will live, and all the wild animals ¹  will walk ²  on its branches.

“‘But you, mountains of Israel, will grow your branches, and bear your fruit for my people Israel; for they will arrive soon. ¹ 

A ¹  very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

when it is sown, it grows up, ¹  becomes the greatest of all garden plants, and grows large branches so that the wild birds ²  can nest in its shade.” ³
