But no human being can subdue the tongue; it is a restless ¹  evil, full of deadly poison.

Above all, understand this: ¹  In the last days blatant scoffers ²  will come, being propelled by their own evil urges ³ 

After being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, ¹  they went back by another route to their own country.

He ¹  was trying to get a look at Jesus, ²  but being a short man he could not see over the crowd. ³ 

For I tell you that this scripture must be ¹  fulfilled in me, ‘And he was counted with the transgressors.’ ²  For what is written about me is being fulfilled.” ³

praising God and having the good will ¹  of all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number every day ²  those who were being saved.

if ¹  we are being examined ²  today for a good deed ³  done to a sick man – by what means this man was healed ⁴  –

A crowd of people from the towns around Jerusalem ¹  also came together, bringing the sick and those troubled by unclean spirits. ²  They ³  were all ⁴  being healed.

When ¹  he saw one of them being hurt unfairly, ²  Moses ³  came to his defense ⁴  and avenged the person who was mistreated by striking down the Egyptian.

He ¹  saw heaven ²  opened ³  and an object something like a large sheet ⁴  descending, ⁵  being let down to earth ⁶  by its four corners.

For ¹  we are in danger of being charged with rioting ²  today, since there is no cause we can give to explain ³  this disorderly gathering.” ⁴ 

When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and a violent ¹  storm continued to batter us, ²  we finally abandoned all hope of being saved. ³ 

When the fourteenth night had come, while we were being driven ¹  across the Adriatic Sea, ²  about midnight the sailors suspected they were approaching some land. ³ 

For if by my lie the truth of God enhances ¹  his glory, why am I still actually being judged as a sinner?

Without being weak in faith, he considered ¹  his own body as dead ²  (because he was about one hundred years old) and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

I do not mean yours but the other person’s. For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience?

and by which you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message I preached to you – unless you believed in vain.

Now if Christ is being preached as raised from the dead, ¹  how can some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead?
