To the Jews I became like a Jew to gain the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law) ¹  to gain those under the law.

Then ¹  I looked when the Lamb opened the sixth seal, and a huge ²  earthquake took place; the sun became as black as sackcloth made of hair, ³  and the full moon became blood red; ⁴ 

But when he saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out, ¹  “Lord, save me!”

And he was transfigured before them. ¹  His ²  face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.

They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised.” And they became greatly distressed.

and his clothes became radiantly white, more so than any launderer in the world could bleach them.

After some time ¹  his wife Elizabeth became pregnant, ²  and for five months she kept herself in seclusion. ³  She said, ⁴ 

And the child grew and became strong, ¹  filled with wisdom, ²  and the favor ³  of God ⁴  was upon him.

As ¹  he was praying, ²  the appearance of his face was transformed, ³  and his clothes became very bright, a brilliant white. ⁴ 

But the older son ¹  became angry ²  and refused ³  to go in. His father came out and appealed to him,

That very day Herod and Pilate became friends with each other, ¹  for prior to this they had been enemies. ² 

He became hungry and wanted to eat, but while they were preparing the meal, a trance came over him. ¹ 

When ¹  they heard ²  this they became enraged ³  and began to shout, ⁴  “Great is Artemis ⁵  of the Ephesians!”

(When they heard ¹  that he was addressing ²  them in Aramaic, ³  they became even ⁴  quieter.) ⁵  Then ⁶  Paul said,

And I was once alive apart from the law, but with the coming of the commandment sin became alive

Thus he became ¹  so far better than the angels as ²  he has inherited a name superior to theirs.

And by being perfected in this way, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

where Jesus our forerunner entered on our behalf, since he became a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek. ¹ 

Now Peter and those with him were quite sleepy, ¹  but as they became fully awake, ²  they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.

Which of these three do you think became a neighbor ¹  to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”
