They ¹  also asked them, “What are the names of the men who are building this edifice?”

I asked, ¹  “Will the Lord reject me forever? Will he never again show me his favor?

They asked for food, ¹  and he sent quails; he satisfied them with food from the sky. ² 

Then I asked the messenger who spoke with me, “What are these, ¹  sir?”

I asked the messenger who was speaking to me, “Where are they taking the basket?”

Then I asked the angelic messenger ¹  who was speaking with me, “What are these, sir?”

so much that he promised with an oath ¹  to give her whatever she asked.

The same day Sadducees ¹  (who say there is no resurrection) ²  came to him and asked him, ³ 

And one of them, an expert in religious law, ¹  asked him a question to test ²  him:

He asked, “Why? What wrong has he done?” But they shouted more insistently, “Crucify him!”

When he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They replied, “Seven.”

In the house once again, the disciples asked him about this.

So ¹  Pilate asked him, “Are you the king ²  of the Jews?” He replied, ³  “You say so.” ⁴ 

Pilate asked them, “Why? What has he done wrong?” But they shouted more insistently, “Crucify him!”

Thus Jesus ¹  asked, ²  “What is the kingdom of God ³  like? ⁴  To ⁵  what should I compare it?

Someone ¹  asked ²  him, “Lord, will only a few ³  be saved?” So ⁴  he said to them,

So ¹  he called one of the slaves ²  and asked what was happening.

Now ¹  a certain ruler ²  asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” ³
