Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king ¹  of Israel!” ² 

The crowd ¹  answered, “You’re possessed by a demon! ²  Who is trying to kill you?” ³ 

Then the Pharisees answered, ¹  “You haven’t been deceived too, have you? ² 

Jesus answered, ¹  “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’? ² 

When he knocked at the door of the outer gate, a slave girl named Rhoda answered. ¹ 

They answered, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, ¹  and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

He answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator made them male and female, ¹ 

Jesus ¹  answered them, “You are deceived, ²  because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.

He ¹  answered, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me ²  will betray me.

She answered, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

His disciples answered him, “Where can someone get enough bread in this desolate place to satisfy these people?”

He asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, ¹  “You are the Christ.” ² 

Jesus ¹  answered him, ²  “It is written, ‘You are to worship ³  the Lord ⁴  your God and serve only him.’” ⁵ 

Jesus ¹  answered him, ²  “It is said, ‘You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.’” ³ 

Simon ¹  answered, ²  “Master, ³  we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your word ⁴  I will lower ⁵  the nets.”

Jesus ¹  answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. ² 

Jesus ¹  answered them, ²  “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry –

So ¹  Jesus answered him, ²  “Simon, I have something to say to you.” He replied, ³  “Say it, Teacher.”

Simon answered, ¹  “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled.” ²  Jesus ³  said to him, “You have judged rightly.”

Then ¹  he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter ²  answered, ³  “The Christ ⁴  of God.”
