Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man ¹  does not live by bread alone.’” ² 

So Jesus said, “Leave her alone. She has kept it for the day of my burial. ¹ 

Did the word of God begin with you, ¹  or did it come to you alone?

Now an intermediary is not for one party alone, but God is one. ¹ 

So when we could bear it no longer, we decided to stay on in Athens ¹  alone.

You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

Look, a time ¹  is coming – and has come – when you will be scattered, each one to his own home, ²  and I will be left alone. ³  Yet ⁴  I am not alone, because my Father ⁵  is with me.

So the Lord ¹  let him alone. (At that time ²  she said, “A bridegroom of blood,” referring to ³  the circumcision.)

I am not able to bear this entire people alone, ¹  because it ²  is too heavy for me!

Sometime later ¹  Naomi’s husband Elimelech died, so she and her two sons were left alone.

I loathe ¹  it; ²  I do not want to live forever; leave me alone, ³  for my days are a vapor! ⁴ 

Will you never ¹  look away from me, ²  will you not let me alone ³  long enough to swallow my spittle?

Are not my days few? ¹  Cease, ²  then, and leave ³  me alone, ⁴  that I may find a little comfort, ⁵ 

I will come and tell about ¹  the mighty acts of the sovereign Lord. I will proclaim your justice – yours alone.

Then they will know ¹  that you alone are the Lord, ²  the sovereign king ³  over all the earth.

You cause my friends and neighbors to keep their distance; ¹  those who know me leave me alone in the darkness. ² 

Proud men will be brought low, arrogant men will be humiliated; ¹  the Lord alone will be exalted ²  in that day.

O Lord, our God, masters other than you have ruled us, but we praise your name alone.

They ¹  cried out, “Son of God, leave us alone! ²  Have you come here to torment us before the time?” ³
