and so, somehow, ¹  to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

if ¹  we are being examined ²  today for a good deed ³  done to a sick man – by what means this man was healed ⁴  –

This means ¹  it is not the children of the flesh ²  who are the children of God; rather, the children of promise are counted as descendants.

‘The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in loyal love, ¹  forgiving iniquity and transgression, ²  but by no means clearing ³  the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children until the third and fourth generations.’ ⁴ 

Around three o’clock ¹  Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” ² 

Jesus turned around and saw them following and said to them, “What do you want?” ¹  So they said to him, “Rabbi” (which is translated Teacher), ²  “where are you staying?”

“He will then make one of the turtledoves ¹  or young pigeons, which are within his means, ² 

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Absolutely not!

The dream was repeated to Pharaoh ¹  because the matter has been decreed ²  by God, and God will make it happen soon. ³ 

If a man has no redeemer, but he prospers ¹  and gains enough for its redemption, ² 

If, however, ¹  he is not redeemed in these ways, he must go free ²  in the jubilee year, he and his children with him,

The king responded, “Give the first woman the living child; don’t kill him. She is the mother.”

For I tell you the truth, ¹  whoever gives you a cup of water because ²  you bear Christ’s ³  name will never lose his reward.

and Joanna the wife of Cuza ¹  (Herod’s ²  household manager), ³  Susanna, and many others who provided for them ⁴  out of their own resources.

to finish what you started, ¹  so that just as you wanted to do it eagerly, ²  you can also complete it ³  according to your means. ⁴ 

Now if I am to go on living in the body, ¹  this will mean productive work ²  for me, yet I don’t know which I prefer: ³ 

What shall we say then? Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not!

keeping loyal love for thousands, ¹  forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. But he by no means leaves the guilty unpunished, responding to the transgression ²  of fathers by dealing with children and children’s children, to the third and fourth generation.”

Then a spirit ¹  stepped forward and stood before the Lord. He said, ‘I will deceive him.’ The Lord asked him, ‘How?’

The king told them, “I have had a dream, ¹  and I ²  am anxious to understand the dream.”
