They will lament loudly ¹  over you and cry bitterly. They will throw dust on their heads and roll in the ashes; ² 

The ¹  crowd scolded ²  them to get them to be quiet. But they shouted even more loudly, “Lord, have mercy on us, ³  Son of David!”

As Paul ¹  was saying these things in his defense, Festus ²  exclaimed loudly, “You have lost your mind, ³  Paul! Your great learning is driving you insane!”

Then Jacob kissed Rachel and began to weep loudly. ¹ 

But when you assemble the community, ¹  you must blow, but you must not sound an alarm. ² 

“The Levites will call out to every Israelite ¹  with a loud voice:

The Lord thundered ¹  from the sky; the sovereign One ²  shouted loudly. ³ 

The musicians Heman, Asaph, and Ethan were to sound the bronze cymbals;

They called out loudly in the Judahite dialect to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, trying to scare and terrify them so they could seize the city.

People were unable to tell the difference between the sound of joyous shouting and the sound of the people’s weeping, for the people were shouting so loudly ¹  that the sound was heard a long way off.

Now when Mordecai became aware of all that had been done, he ¹  tore his garments and put on sackcloth and ashes. He went out into the city, crying out in a loud ²  and bitter voice.

But when they gazed intently ¹  from a distance but did not recognize ²  him, they began to weep loudly. Each of them tore his robes, and they threw dust into the air over their heads. ³ 

“Shout loudly! Don’t be quiet! Yell as loud as a trumpet! Confront my people with their rebellious deeds; ¹  confront Jacob’s family with their sin! ²
