Then I turned to look, and there was a flying scroll!

The flood engulfed the earth for forty days. As the waters increased, they lifted the ark and raised it above the earth.

Indeed, the Lord who commands armies has planned a day of judgment, ¹  for ²  all the high and mighty, for all who are proud – they will be humiliated;

Then the cherubim spread ¹  their wings with their wheels alongside them while the glory of the God of Israel hovered above them.

When the living beings moved, the wheels moved, and when they stopped moving, the wheels stopped. ¹  When they rose up from the ground, the wheels rose up from the ground; the wheels rose up beside them because the spirit of the living being was in the wheel.

A wind lifted me up and carried me away. I went bitterly, ¹  my spirit full of fury, and the hand of the Lord rested powerfully ²  on me.

Then the crowd responded, ¹  “We have heard from the law that the Christ ²  will remain forever. ³  How ⁴  can you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

because of your anger and raging fury. Indeed, ¹  you pick me up and throw me away.

Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them and descended from making the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offering.

Then Moses raised his hand, and struck the rock twice with his staff. And water came out abundantly. So the community drank, and their beasts drank too.

When the Lord’s messenger finished speaking these words to all the Israelites, the people wept loudly. ¹ 

So the people came to Bethel ¹  and sat there before God until evening, weeping loudly and uncontrollably. ² 

So they buried Abner in Hebron. The king cried loudly ¹  over Abner’s grave and all the people wept too.

Then a wind ¹  lifted me up and brought me to the inner court; I watched ²  the glory of the Lord filling the temple. ³ 

When the mountains see you, they shake. The torrential downpour sweeps through. ¹  The great deep ²  shouts out; it lifts its hands high. ³ 

Whom have you taunted and hurled insults at? At whom have you shouted, ¹  and looked so arrogantly? ²  At the Holy One of Israel! ³ 

O Lord, you are ready to act, ¹  but they don’t even notice. They will see and be put to shame by your angry judgment against humankind, ²  yes, fire will consume your enemies. ³ 

Whom have you taunted and hurled insults at? At whom have you shouted and looked so arrogantly? ¹  At the Holy One of Israel! ² 

But when the cloud was lifted up ¹  from the tabernacle, the Israelites would set out ²  on all their journeys;

if I have raised my hand ¹  to vote against the orphan, when I saw my support in the court, ²
