“‘If ¹  she becomes clean from her discharge, then she is to count off for herself seven days, and afterward she will be clean.

Then the king told the woman, “Go to your home. I will give instructions concerning your situation.” ¹ 

He struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of their reproductive power. ¹ 

She ¹  came up behind Jesus ²  and touched the edge ³  of his cloak, ⁴  and at once the bleeding ⁵  stopped.

For ¹  neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for ²  anything; the only thing that matters is a new creation! ³ 

“I also hereby issue orders as to what you are to do with those elders of the Jews in order to rebuild this temple of God. From the royal treasury, from the taxes of Trans-Euphrates the complete costs are to be given to these men, so that there may be no interruption of the work. ¹ 

“I, King Artaxerxes, hereby issue orders to all the treasurers of ¹  Trans-Euphrates, that you precisely execute all that Ezra the priestly scribe of the law of the God of heaven may request of you –

Any children that you father ¹  after them will be yours; they will be listed ²  under the names of their brothers in their inheritance. ³ 

“‘Any bed the man with a discharge lies on will be unclean, ¹  and any furniture he sits on will be unclean. ² 

The one who sits on the furniture the man with a discharge sits on must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

The one who touches the body ¹  of the man with a discharge must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

If the man with a discharge spits on a person who is ceremonially clean, ¹  that person must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

A clay vessel ¹  which the man with the discharge touches must be broken, and any wooden utensil must be rinsed in water.

This is the law of the one with a discharge: the one who has a seminal emission ¹  and becomes unclean by it, ² 

Your children ¹  will be cursed, as well as the produce of your soil, the calves of your herds, and the lambs of your flocks.

It is best to take hold of one warning ¹  without letting go of the other warning; ²  for the one who fears God will follow ³  both warnings. ⁴ 

Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted! Issue your orders, but they will not be executed! ¹  For God is with us! ² 

He inquired of Arioch the king’s deputy, “Why is the decree from the king so urgent?” ¹  Then Arioch informed Daniel about the matter.

I heard, but I did not understand. So I said, “Sir, ¹  what will happen after these things?”

But ¹  a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage ²  for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge ³  of his cloak. ⁴
