with hangings on one side ¹  of the gate that were twenty-two and a half feet long, with their three posts and their three bases,

Five curtains are to be joined, ¹  one to another, ²  and the other ³  five curtains are to be joined, one to another.

You are to join five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves. You are to double over ¹  the sixth curtain at the front of the tent.

“You are to make the ¹  altar of acacia wood, seven feet six inches long, ²  and seven feet six inches wide; the altar is to be square, ³  and its height is to be ⁴  four feet six inches.
