When their close relatives, the ones who will burn the corpses, ¹  pick up their bodies to remove the bones from the house, they will say to anyone who is in the inner rooms of the house, “Is anyone else with you?” He will respond, “Be quiet! Don’t invoke the Lord’s name!” ² 

The first disappeared ¹  and I said, “He has surely been torn to pieces.” I have not seen him since.

Pharaoh will think ¹  regarding the Israelites, ‘They are wandering around confused ²  in the land – the desert has closed in on them.’ ³ 

So I said to them, ‘Whoever has gold, break it off.’ So they gave it ¹  to me, and I threw it into the fire, and this calf came out.” ² 

I also said to you at that time, “I am no longer able to sustain you by myself.

Then I said to you, “You have come to the Amorite hill country which the Lord our God is about to give ¹  us.

‘Cursed is the one who perverts justice for the resident foreigner, the orphan, and the widow.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’

‘Cursed is the one who commits bestiality.’ ¹  Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’

‘Cursed is the one who takes a bribe to kill an innocent person.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’

when I said, ‘To here you may come ¹  and no farther, ²  here your proud waves will be confined’? ³ 

I say, ¹  “I wish I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and settle in a safe place!

so is a person ¹  who deceives his neighbor, and says, “Was I not only joking?” ² 

The one who robs ¹  his father and mother and says, “There is no transgression,” is a companion ²  to the one ³  who destroys.

Even when a fool walks along the road he lacks sense, ¹  and shows ²  everyone what a fool he is. ³ 

The Lover to His Beloved: My lover spoke to me, saying: “Arise, my darling; My beautiful one, come away with me!

What can I say? He has decreed and acted. ¹  I will walk slowly all my years because I am overcome with grief. ² 

He says, ¹  “Build it! Build it! Clear a way! Remove all the obstacles out of the way of my people!”

I answered, “Oh, Lord God, ¹  I really ²  do not know how to speak well enough for that, ³  for I am too young.” ⁴
