This sin caused Jeroboam’s dynasty ¹  to come to an end and to be destroyed from the face of the earth.

The king of Babylon ordered them to be executed ¹  at Riblah in the territory ²  of Hamath. So Judah was deported from its land.

He spoke kindly to him and gave him a more prestigious position than ¹  the other kings who were with him in Babylon.

For your loyal love extends beyond the sky, ¹  and your faithfulness reaches the clouds.

You sold Judeans and Jerusalemites to the Greeks, removing them far from their own country. ¹ 

As a matter of fact, ¹  Amos is saying this: ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword and Israel will certainly be carried into exile ²  away from its land.’”

You wrongly evict widows ¹  among my people from their cherished homes. You defraud their children ²  of their prized inheritance. ³ 

yet you ¹  hate what is good, ²  and love what is evil. ³  You flay my people’s skin ⁴  and rip the flesh from their bones. ⁵ 

Your eyes will see it, and then you will say, ‘May the Lord be magnified ¹  even beyond the border of Israel!’”
