So Samuel followed Saul back, and Saul worshiped the Lord.

(24:1) ¹  Then David went up from there and stayed in the strongholds of En Gedi.

The Lord rewarded me for my godly deeds; ¹  he took notice of my blameless behavior. ² 

When Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and had then returned,

So the prophet went back with him and ate and drank in his house. ¹ 

The Lord ordered the messenger ¹  to put his sword back into its sheath.

Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem; ¹  he built up these fortified cities throughout Judah:

When King Jehoshaphat of Judah returned home safely to Jerusalem, ¹ 

The Lord sits enthroned over the engulfing waters, ¹  the Lord sits enthroned ²  as the eternal king.

A wise king separates out ¹  the wicked; he turns the threshing wheel over them. ² 

My people will live in peaceful settlements, in secure homes, and in safe, quiet places. ¹ 

He will then turn his attention to the fortresses of his own land, but he will stumble and fall, not to be found again.

So Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and lived in the land of Nod, ¹  east of Eden.

So Abram moved his tents and went to live ¹  by the oaks ²  of Mamre in Hebron, and he built an altar to the Lord there.

Abraham journeyed from there to the Negev ¹  region and settled between Kadesh and Shur. While he lived as a temporary resident ²  in Gerar,

God was with the boy as he grew. He lived in the wilderness and became an archer.

He lived in the wilderness of Paran. ¹  His mother found a wife for him from the land of Egypt. ² 

Then Laban said to him, “You are indeed my own flesh and blood.” ¹  So Jacob ²  stayed with him for a month. ³ 

Later Reuben returned to the cistern to find that Joseph was not in it! ¹  He tore his clothes,

returned to his brothers, and said, “The boy isn’t there! And I, where can I go?”
