Israel moved to ¹  Egypt; Jacob lived for a time ²  in the land of Ham.

When pride ¹  comes, ²  then comes disgrace, ³  but with humility ⁴  comes ⁵  wisdom.

Open the gates so a righteous nation can enter – one that remains trustworthy.

At the designated time ¹  Cain brought some of the fruit of the ground for an offering ²  to the Lord.

Noah entered the ark along with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives because ¹  of the floodwaters.

So Abram moved his tents and went to live ¹  by the oaks ²  of Mamre in Hebron, and he built an altar to the Lord there.

He had sexual relations with ¹  Hagar, and she became pregnant. ²  Once Hagar realized she was pregnant, she despised Sarai. ³ 

Now Jacob cooked some stew, ¹  and when Esau came in from the open fields, he was famished.

So he went and got the goats ¹  and brought them to his mother. She ²  prepared some tasty food, just the way his father loved it.

He went to his father and said, “My father!” Isaac ¹  replied, “Here I am. Which are you, my son?” ² 

So Rachel ¹  gave him her servant Bilhah as a wife, and Jacob had marital relations with ²  her.

So Hamor and his son Shechem went to the gate ¹  of their city and spoke to the men of their city,

There Judah saw the daughter of a Canaanite man ¹  named Shua. ²  Judah acquired her as a wife ³  and had marital relations with her. ⁴ 

The man did just as Joseph said; he ¹  brought the men into Joseph’s house. ² 

So Judah and his brothers ¹  came back to Joseph’s house. He was still there, ²  and they threw themselves to the ground before him.

Then Joseph brought in his father Jacob and presented him ¹  before Pharaoh. Jacob blessed ²  Pharaoh.

And Pharaoh turned and went into his house. He did not pay any attention to this. ¹ 

and put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark in order to carry the ark.

Then Moses and Aaron stood before the tent of meeting.

And God came to Balaam and said, “Who are these men with you?”
