If you have a willing attitude and obey, ¹  then you will again eat the good crops of the land.

The whole earth rests and is quiet; they break into song.

Terror, pit, and snare are ready to overtake you inhabitants of the earth! ¹ 

(A city by the name of Hamonah ¹  will also be there.) They will cleanse the land.’

God saw the earth, and indeed ¹  it was ruined, ²  for all living creatures ³  on the earth were sinful. ⁴ 

So God said ¹  to Noah, “I have decided that all living creatures must die, ²  for the earth is filled with violence because of them. Now I am about to destroy ³  them and the earth.

The flood engulfed the earth for forty days. As the waters increased, they lifted the ark and raised it above the earth.

And all living things ¹  that moved on the earth died, including the birds, domestic animals, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all humankind.

and with every living creature that is with you, including the birds, the domestic animals, and every living creature of the earth with you, all those that came out of the ark with you – every living creature of the earth. ¹ 

And I will make your descendants like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone is able to count the dust of the earth, then your descendants also can be counted. ¹ 

The land I gave ¹  to Abraham and Isaac I will give to you. To your descendants ²  I will also give this land.”

Now Joseph was the ruler of the country, the one who sold grain to all the people of the country. ¹  Joseph’s brothers came and bowed down ²  before him with ³  their faces to the ground.

“Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘When you enter the land that I am giving you, the land must observe a Sabbath ¹  to the Lord.

“‘Then the land will make up for ¹  its Sabbaths all the days it lies desolate while you are in the land of your enemies; then the land will rest and make up its Sabbaths.

They said to the whole community of the Israelites, “The land we passed through to investigate is an exceedingly ¹  good land.

The men whom Moses sent to investigate the land, who returned and made the whole community murmur against him by producing ¹  an evil report about the land,

and the land is subdued before the Lord, then afterward you may return and be free of your obligation to the Lord and to Israel. This land will then be your possession in the Lord’s sight.

Then they took ¹  some of the produce of the land and carried it back down to us. They also brought a report to us, saying, “The land that the Lord our God is about to give us is good.”

the gods of the surrounding people (whether near you or far from you, from one end of the earth ¹  to the other).

You will see the land before you, but you will not enter the land that I am giving to the Israelites.”
