They did not see ¹  the awesome deeds he performed ²  in the midst of Egypt against Pharaoh king of Egypt and his whole land,

Solomon tried to kill Jeroboam, but Jeroboam escaped to Egypt and found refuge with King Shishak of Egypt. ¹  He stayed in Egypt until Solomon died.

He will extend his power ¹  against other lands; the land of Egypt will not escape.
