For seven days ¹  you must eat ²  bread made without yeast, and on the seventh day there is to be ³  a festival to the Lord.

“‘Whoever touches ¹  the corpse ²  of any person ³  will be ceremonially unclean ⁴  seven days.

Therefore, you remained at Kadesh for a long time – indeed, for the full time. ¹ 

After three days the leaders went through the camp

Their father Ephraim mourned for them many days and his brothers came to console him.

So I came to Jerusalem. ¹  When I had been there for three days,

“Man, born of woman, ¹  lives but a few days, ²  and they are full of trouble. ³ 

The gray-haired ¹  and the aged are on our side, ²  men far older than your father. ³ 

“Then I thought, ‘I will die in my own home, ¹  my days as numerous as the grains of sand. ² 

I said to myself, ‘Age ¹  should speak, ²  and length of years ³  should make wisdom known.’

the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea and everything that moves through the currents ¹  of the seas.

For he set its foundation upon the seas, and established ¹  it upon the ocean currents. ² 

You calm the raging seas ¹  and their roaring waves, as well as the commotion made by the nations. ² 

Let the heavens and the earth praise him, along with the seas and everything that swims in them!

He rained down meat on them like dust, birds as numerous as the sand on the seashores. ¹ 

for they will provide ¹  a long and full life, ²  and they will add well-being ³  to you.

Fearing the Lord ¹  prolongs life, ²  but the life span ³  of the wicked will be shortened. ⁴ 

They will bring you down to the pit, and you will die violently ¹  in the heart of the seas.

So the warden ¹  agreed to their proposal ²  and tested them for ten ³  days.

God called the dry ground “land” ¹  and the gathered waters he called “seas.” God saw that it was good.
