So now, leave me alone ¹  so that my anger can burn against them and I can destroy them, and I will make from you a great nation.”

These are the ones that are unclean to you among all the swarming things. Anyone who touches them when they die will be unclean until evening.

Do not make yourselves detestable by any of the swarming things. ¹  You must not defile yourselves by them and become unclean by them,

You must observe my regulations ¹  and you must be sure to walk in my statutes. ²  I am the Lord your God.

So the rulers of the Philistines brought her seven fresh bowstrings which had not been dried and they tied him up with them.

The one who touches them must use an iron instrument or the wooden shaft of a spear. They are completely burned up right where they lie!” ¹ 

He fortified these cities and placed officers in them, as well as storehouses of food, olive oil, and wine.

The Lord sent prophets among them to lead them back to him. ¹  They warned ²  the people, but they would not pay attention.

He is secure at all times. ¹  He has no regard for your commands; ²  he disdains all his enemies. ³ 

Yet its voice ¹  echoes ²  throughout the earth; its ³  words carry ⁴  to the distant horizon. ⁵  In the sky ⁶  he has pitched a tent for the sun. ⁷ 

when the anger of God flared up against them. He killed some of the strongest of them; he brought the young men of Israel to their knees.

For I say, “Loyal love is permanently established; ¹  in the skies you set up your faithfulness.” ² 

Your eyes saw me when I was inside the womb. ¹  All the days ordained for me were recorded in your scroll before one of them came into existence. ² 

and execute the judgment to which their enemies ¹  have been sentenced. ²  All his loyal followers will be vindicated. ³  Praise the Lord!

I designed ¹  royal gardens ²  and parks ³  for myself, and I planted all kinds of fruit trees in them.

Your teeth are like a flock of newly-shorn sheep coming up from the washing place; ¹  each of them has a twin, and not one of them is missing.

The prophets will prove to be full of wind. ¹  The Lord has not spoken through them. ²  So, let what they say happen to them.’”

As for you, son of man, they will put ropes on you and tie you up with them, so you cannot go out among them.

When the cherubim ¹  stood still, the wheels ²  stood still, and when they rose up, the wheels ³  rose up with them, for the spirit ⁴  of the living beings ⁵  was in the wheels. ⁶
