Rescue the poor and needy! Deliver them from the power ¹  of the wicked!

Certainly you will see it with your very own eyes – you will see the wicked paid back. ¹ 

Fire burned their group; the flames scorched the wicked. ¹ 

When he is judged, he will be found ¹  guilty! ²  Then his prayer will be regarded as sinful.

Rage takes hold of me because of the wicked, those who reject your law.

The ropes of the wicked tighten around ¹  me, but I do not forget your law.

The wicked prepare to kill me, ¹  yet I concentrate on your rules.

The Lord is just; he cut the ropes of the wicked.” ¹ 

but the wicked ¹  will be removed ²  from the land, and the treacherous ³  will be torn away ⁴  from it.

The memory ¹  of the righteous is a blessing, but the reputation ²  of the wicked will rot. ³ 

The reward ¹  which the righteous receive ²  is life; the recompense ³  which the wicked receive ⁴  is judgment. ⁵ 

The hope ¹  of the righteous is joy, but the expectation of the wicked will remain unfulfilled. ² 

The righteous person is delivered ¹  out of trouble, and the wicked turns up in his stead. ² 

The plans ¹  of the righteous are just; the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. ² 

The wicked are overthrown ¹  and perish, ²  but the righteous household ³  will stand.

The righteous person is cautious in his friendship, ¹  but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

The light ¹  of the righteous shines brightly, ²  but the lamp ³  of the wicked goes out. ⁴ 

The household ¹  of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent ²  of the upright will flourish.

The wicked will be thrown down in his trouble, ¹  but the righteous have refuge ²  even in the threat of death. ³ 

The Lord is far ¹  from the wicked, but he hears ²  the prayer of the righteous. ³
