and with cutting and setting stone, and with cutting wood, to work in all kinds of craftsmanship.

Hope ¹  deferred ²  makes the heart sick, ³  but a longing fulfilled ⁴  is like ⁵  a tree of life.

Speech ¹  that heals ²  is like ³  a life-giving tree, ⁴  but a perverse tongue ⁵  breaks the spirit.

Where there is no wood, a fire goes out, and where there is no gossip, ¹  contention ceases. ² 

One who quarries stones may be injured by them; one who splits logs may be endangered by them.

King Solomon made a sedan chair ¹  for himself of wood imported from Lebanon. ² 

There will be so few trees left in his forest, a child will be able to count them. ¹
