The Levitical priests ¹  – indeed, the entire tribe of Levi – will have no allotment or inheritance with Israel; they may eat the burnt offerings of the Lord and of his inheritance. ² 

However, Moses ¹  did not assign land as an inheritance ²  to the Levites; their inheritance ³  is the sacrificial offerings ⁴  made to the Lord God of Israel, as he instructed ⁵  them.

For the Lord’s allotment is his people, Jacob is his special possession. ¹ 

The land allotted to the tribe of Gad by its clans included these cities and their towns. ¹ 

Their assigned land included ¹  Beer Sheba, ²  Moladah,

This was the land assigned to the tribe of Zebulun ¹  by its clans, including these cities and their towns.

This was the land assigned to the tribe of Naphtali ¹  by its clans, including the cities and their towns.

Their assigned land included Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh,

saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance.”

Such is the lot God allots the wicked, and the heritage of his appointment ¹  from God.”

What then would be one’s lot from God above, one’s heritage from the Almighty ¹  on high?

Ask me, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, ¹  the ends of the earth as your personal property.
