He returns no more to his house, nor does his place of residence ¹  know him ²  any more.

If he is uprooted ¹  from his place, then that place ²  will disown him, saying, ³  ‘I have never seen you!’

But as ¹  a mountain falls away and crumbles, ²  and as a rock will be removed from its place,

“O earth, do not cover my blood, ¹  nor let there be a secret ²  place for my cry.

People ¹  who had seen him will not see him again, and the place where he was will recognize him no longer.

“Surely ²  there is a mine ³  for silver, and a place where gold is refined. ⁴ 

“But wisdom – where can it be found? Where is the place of understanding?

“But wisdom – where does it come from? ¹  Where is the place of understanding?

God understands the way to it, and he alone knows its place.

Have you ever in your life ¹  commanded the morning, or made the dawn know ²  its place,

Who is allowed to ascend ¹  the mountain of the Lord? ²  Who may go up to his holy dwelling place?

O Lord, I love the temple where you live, ¹  the place where your splendor is revealed. ² 

Evil men will soon disappear; ¹  you will stare at the spot where they once were, but they will be gone. ² 

Yet you have battered us, leaving us a heap of ruins overrun by wild dogs; ¹  you have covered us with darkness. ² 

until I find a place for the Lord, a fine dwelling place ¹  for the powerful ruler of Jacob.” ² 

The eyes of the Lord ¹  are in every place, keeping watch ²  on those who are evil and those who are good.

Do not honor yourself before the king, and do not stand in the place of great men;

Like a bird that wanders ¹  from its nest, so is a person who wanders from his home. ² 

Indeed, all the tables are covered with vomit; no place is untouched. ¹ 

But with an overwhelming flood ¹  he will make a complete end of Nineveh; ²  he will drive ³  his enemies into darkness.
