Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, ¹  but those who promote peace ²  have joy.

Even a fool who remains silent is considered ¹  wise, and the one who holds his tongue is deemed discerning. ² 

The sluggard will not plow ¹  during the planting season, ²  so at harvest time he looks ³  for the crop ⁴  but has nothing.

But if her husband remains completely silent ¹  about her from day to day, he thus confirms all her vows or all her obligations which she is under; he confirms them because he remained silent about when he heard them.

Silently the man watched her with interest to determine ¹  if the Lord had made his journey successful ²  or not.

and a messenger came to Job, saying, “The oxen were plowing ¹  and the donkeys were grazing beside them,

I will not keep silent about its limbs, and the extent of its might, and the grace of its arrangement. ¹ 

Our God approaches and is not silent; ¹  consuming fire goes ahead of him and all around him a storm rages. ²

A song, a psalm of Asaph. O God, do not be silent! Do not ignore us! ²  Do not be inactive, O God!

Do not plot ¹  evil against your neighbor when ²  he dwells by you unsuspectingly.

They were silent and did not respond, for the king had ordered, “Don’t respond to him.”

“Listen to me in silence, you coastlands! ¹  Let the nations find renewed strength! Let them approach and then speak; let us come together for debate! ²

But you have plowed wickedness; you have reaped injustice; you have eaten the fruit of deception. Because you have depended on your chariots; ¹  you have relied ²  on your many warriors.

Therefore, because of you, ¹  Zion will be plowed up like ²  a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins, and the Temple Mount ³  will become a hill overgrown with brush! ⁴ 

Nations will see this and be disappointed by ¹  all their strength, they will put their hands over their mouths, and act as if they were deaf. ² 

“Don’t imagine that because you are part of the king’s household you will be the one Jew ¹  who will escape. If you keep quiet at this time, liberation and protection for the Jews will appear ²  from another source, ³  while you and your father’s household perish. It may very well be ⁴  that you have achieved royal status ⁵  for such a time as this!”

When ¹  Jacob heard that Shechem ²  had violated his daughter Dinah, his sons were with the livestock in the field. So Jacob remained silent ³  until they came in.

and her husband hears about it, but remains silent about her when he hears about it, then her vows will stand and her obligations which she has pledged for herself will stand.
