For the one who eats and drinks without careful regard ¹  for the body eats and drinks judgment against himself.

If the whole body were an eye, what part would do the hearing? If the whole were an ear, what part would exercise the sense of smell?

Now the church is ¹  his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. ² 

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you too were called to the one hope of your calling,

So when he came into the world, he said, “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.

For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

“The eye is the lamp of the body. If then your eye is healthy, ¹  your whole body will be full of light.

While they were eating, he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it. This is my body.”

“I ¹  tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, ²  and after that have nothing more they can do.

Then ¹  the disciples ²  said ³  to him, “Where, ⁴  Lord?” He replied to them, “Where the dead body ⁵  is, there the vultures ⁶  will gather.” ⁷ 

The ¹  women who had accompanied Jesus ²  from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it.

and when they did not find his body, they came back and said they had seen a vision of angels, ¹  who said he was alive.

Then they took Jesus’ body and wrapped it, with the aromatic spices, ¹  in strips of linen cloth ²  according to Jewish burial customs. ³ 

And she saw two angels in white sitting where Jesus’ body had been lying, one at the head and one at the feet.

Without being weak in faith, he considered ¹  his own body as dead ²  (because he was about one hundred years old) and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

We know that ¹  our old man was crucified with him so that the body of sin would no longer dominate us, ²  so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

Or do you not know that anyone who is united with ¹  a prostitute is one body with her? ²  For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” ³ 

Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin a person commits is outside of the body” ¹  – but the immoral person sins against his own body.

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, ¹  whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

and after he had given thanks he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
