The crowd ¹  answered, “You’re possessed by a demon! ²  Who is trying to kill you?” ³ 

For I see that you are bitterly envious ¹  and in bondage to sin.”

Then ¹  he said to me, ‘Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”

I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these instructions ¹  to you

As I remember your tears, I long to see you, ¹  so that I may be filled with joy.

I am appealing ¹  to you concerning my child, whose spiritual father I have become ²  during my imprisonment, ³  that is, Onesimus,

Now if he has defrauded you of anything or owes you anything, charge what he owes ¹  to me.

Epaphras, ¹  my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you.

The children of your elect sister greet you. ¹ 

If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off! It is better for you to enter into life crippled than to have ¹  two hands and go into hell, ²  to the unquenchable fire. ³ 

If your foot causes you to sin, cut it off! It is better to enter life lame than to have ¹  two feet and be thrown into hell. ² 

If your eye causes you to sin, tear it out! ¹  It is better to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye than to have ²  two eyes and be thrown into hell,

Nathanael asked him, “How do you know me?” Jesus replied, ¹  “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, ²  I saw you.”

Give to the one who asks you, ¹  and do not reject ²  the one who wants to borrow from you.

And the landowner ¹  replied to one of them, ²  ‘Friend, I am not treating you unfairly. Didn’t you agree with me to work for the standard wage? ³ 

Give to everyone who asks you, ¹  and do not ask for your possessions ²  back ³  from the person who takes them away.

That is why ¹  I did not presume ²  to come to you. Instead, say the word, and my servant must be healed. ³ 

He ¹  said to the woman, “Your faith ²  has saved you; ³  go in peace.”

So ¹  he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.”

Then ¹  he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. ²  Go in peace.”
