And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth ¹  in Galilee.”

So ¹  the Pharisees ²  said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is against the law on the Sabbath?”

Some people standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying that colt?”

They had been asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?”

They appeared in glorious splendor and spoke about his departure ¹  that he was about to carry out ²  at Jerusalem. ³ 

So the Jewish leaders ¹  said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, and you are not permitted to carry your mat.” ² 

So the Jewish leaders ¹  were looking for him at the feast, asking, “Where is he?” ² 

Then some of the residents of Jerusalem ¹  began to say, “Isn’t this the man ²  they are trying ³  to kill?

When they heard these words, some of the crowd ¹  began to say, “This really ²  is the Prophet!” ³ 

Many of them were saying, “He is possessed by a demon and has lost his mind! ¹  Why do you listen to him?”

Others said, “These are not the words ¹  of someone possessed by a demon. A demon cannot cause the blind to see, ²  can it?” ³ 

So they kept on repeating, ¹  “What is the meaning of what he says, ²  ‘In a little while’? ³  We do not understand ⁴  what he is talking about.” ⁵ 

They ¹  came up to him again and again ²  and said, “Hail, king of the Jews!” ³  And they struck him repeatedly ⁴  in the face.

For they said to you, “In the end time there will come ¹  scoffers, propelled by their own ungodly desires.” ² 

When the Pharisees ¹  saw this they said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” ² 

The experts in the law ¹  who came down from Jerusalem ²  said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” ³  and, “By the ruler ⁴  of demons he casts out demons.”

They were overwhelmed by fear and said to one another, “Who then is this? ¹  Even the wind and sea obey him!” ² 

His disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing against you and you say, ‘Who touched me?’”

When it was already late, his disciples came to him and said, “This is an isolated place ¹  and it is already very late.

and said, “By what authority ¹  are you doing these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”
