So ¹  he called them and spoke to them in parables: ²  “How can Satan cast out Satan?

He also said, “The kingdom of God is like someone who spreads seed on the ground.

He also asked, “To what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use to present it?

He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there ¹  until you leave the area.

For John had repeatedly told ¹  Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” ² 

He also said to them, “You neatly reject the commandment of God in order to set up ¹  your tradition.

Then ¹  he called the crowd again and said to them, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand.

Immediately the father of the boy cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

Pilate asked them, “Why? What has he done wrong?” But they shouted more insistently, “Crucify him!”

Thus Jesus ¹  asked, ²  “What is the kingdom of God ³  like? ⁴  To ⁵  what should I compare it?

Then ¹  when Jesus ²  noticed how the guests ³  chose the places of honor, ⁴  he told them a parable. He said to them,

(Now he said this about Judas son of Simon Iscariot, ¹  for Judas, ²  one of the twelve, was going to betray him.) ³ 

He said to them, “The secret ¹  of the kingdom of God has been given ²  to you. But to those outside, everything is in parables,

He also said to them, “A lamp ¹  isn’t brought to be put under a basket ²  or under a bed, is it? Isn’t it to be placed on a lampstand?

And he said to them, “Take care about what you hear. The measure you use will be the measure you receive, ¹  and more will be added to you.

He said to her, “Let the children be satisfied first, for it is not right to take the children’s bread and to throw it to the dogs.” ¹ 

While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he said, “How is it that the experts in the law ¹  say that the Christ ²  is David’s son? ³ 

In his teaching Jesus ¹  also said, “Watch out for the experts in the law. ²  They like walking ³  around in long robes and elaborate greetings ⁴  in the marketplaces,

He said, “Abba, ¹  Father, all things are possible for you. Take this cup ²  away from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

So Pilate spoke to them again, ¹  “Then what do you want me to do ²  with the one you call king of the Jews?”
