And he must turn away from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.

They will bring the grandeur and the wealth ¹  of the nations ²  into it,

He brought his head on a platter and gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother.

For whoever wants to save his life ¹  will lose it, ²  but whoever loses his life for my sake and for the gospel will save it.

The one who loves his life ¹  destroys ²  it, and the one who hates his life in this world guards ³  it for eternal life.

The ¹  ten horns that you saw, and the beast – these will hate the prostitute and make her desolate and naked. They ²  will consume her flesh and burn her up with fire. ³ 

but did not have marital relations ¹  with her until she gave birth to a son, whom he named ²  Jesus.

He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then ¹  she got up and began to serve them.

In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had married her.” ¹ 

He also asked, “To what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use to present it?

Although it grieved the king deeply, ¹  he did not want to reject her request because of his oath and his guests.

So ¹  he told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

The second married her and died without any children, and likewise the third.

In the resurrection, when they rise again, ¹  whose wife will she be? For all seven had married her.” ² 

But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why are you bothering her? She has done a good service for me.

They ¹  said to her, “But ²  none of your relatives bears this name.” ³ 

While ¹  they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. ² 

So ¹  he stood over her, commanded ²  the fever, and it left her. Immediately ³  she got up and began to serve ⁴  them.

When ¹  the Lord saw her, he had compassion ²  for her and said to her, “Do not weep.” ³ 

When ¹  Jesus saw her, he called her to him ²  and said, “Woman, ³  you are freed ⁴  from your infirmity.” ⁵
