The first man is from the earth, made of dust; the second man is from heaven.

For in this earthly house ¹  we groan, because we desire to put on ²  our heavenly dwelling,

from ¹  whom every family ²  in heaven and on the earth is named.

that is, ¹  into ²  an inheritance imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. It is reserved in heaven for you,

But ¹  the dragon was not strong enough to prevail, ²  so there was no longer any place left ³  in heaven for him and his angels. ⁴ 

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ ¹  will enter into the kingdom of heaven – only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

and in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, because the sky is red and darkening.’ ¹  You know how to judge correctly the appearance of the sky, ²  but you cannot evaluate the signs of the times.

“See that you do not disdain one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. ¹ 

“I tell you the truth, ¹  whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.

Where did John’s baptism come from? From heaven or from people?” ¹  They discussed this among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’

“Immediately ¹  after the suffering ²  of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken. ³ 

Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.

Then ¹  they ²  heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them: “Come up here!” So the two prophets ³  went up to heaven in a cloud while ⁴  their enemies stared at them.

From that time Jesus began to preach this message: ¹  “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

But I say to you, do not take oaths at all – not by heaven, because it is the throne of God,

So pray this way: ¹  Our Father ²  in heaven, may your name be honored, ³ 

may your kingdom come, ¹  may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Now when the Pharisees ¹  and Sadducees ²  came to test Jesus, ³  they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. ⁴ 

He ¹  said, “When evening comes you say, ‘It will be fair weather, because the sky is red,’

In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that one of these little ones be lost.
