And in this regard we pray for you always, that our God will make you worthy of his calling ¹  and fulfill by his power your every desire for goodness and every work of faith,

The Lord promotes ¹  equity and justice; the Lord’s faithfulness extends throughout the earth. ² 

You crown the year with your good blessings, ¹  and you leave abundance in your wake. ²

They captured fortified cities and fertile land. They took possession of houses full of all sorts of good things – wells previously dug, vineyards, olive trees, and fruit trees in abundance. They ate until they were full ¹  and grew fat. They enjoyed to the full your great goodness.

For this very reason, ¹  make every effort ²  to add to your faith excellence, ³  to excellence, knowledge;

On the fifteenth day after the festival started, ¹  he dismissed the people. They asked God to empower the king ²  and then went to their homes, happy and content ³  because of all the good the Lord had done for his servant David and his people Israel.
