Again Pilate went out and said to the Jewish leaders, ¹  “Look, I am bringing him out to you, so that you may know that I find no reason for an accusation ²  against him.”

When the chief priests and their officers saw him, they shouted out, “Crucify ¹  him! Crucify him!” ²  Pilate said, ³  “You take him and crucify him! ⁴  Certainly ⁵  I find no reason for an accusation ⁶  against him!”

¹ Yet God ²  finds occasions ³  with me; he regards me as his enemy!

They grumbled in their tents; ¹  they did not obey ²  the Lord.

You open your hand, and fill every living thing with the food they desire. ¹ 

So they began to discuss with one another about having no bread. ¹ 

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, ¹  the circumcised believers ²  took issue with ³  him,

Animals torn by wild beasts I never brought to you; I always absorbed the loss myself. ¹  You always made me pay for every missing animal, ²  whether it was taken by day or at night.

You will lose your hold on the land ¹  which I gave to you as a permanent possession. I will make you serve your enemies in a land that you know nothing about. For you have made my anger burn like a fire that will never be put out.” ² 

but there is one who hears the sound of the trumpet yet does not heed the warning. Then the sword comes and sweeps him away. He will be responsible for his own death. ¹ 

and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was misleading ¹  the people. When I examined him before you, I ²  did not find this man guilty ³  of anything you accused him of doing.

so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without blemish though you live in a crooked and perverse society, in which you shine as lights in the world ¹ 

“Will the one who contends ¹  with the Almighty correct him? ²  Let the person who accuses God give him an answer!”

I am not condemning ¹  you because of your sacrifices, or because of your burnt sacrifices that you continually offer me. ² 

Do not let anyone accuse or contend against anyone else: ¹  for my case is against you priests! ² 

Then the Jews who were hostile to Jesus ¹  began complaining about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven,”

For the creation was subjected to futility – not willingly but because of God ¹  who subjected it – in hope

We did this ¹  as a precaution so that no one should blame us in regard to this generous gift we are administering.

For if you turn away from following him, he will once again abandon ¹  them in the wilderness, and you will be the reason for their destruction.” ² 

Then ¹  Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ ²
