So she sits at the door of her house, on a seat at the highest point of the city,

Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, from the youngest to the oldest, ¹  with blindness. The men outside ²  wore themselves out trying to find the door.

So she left him and closed the door behind her and her sons. As they were bringing the containers to her, she was pouring the olive oil.

She went up and laid him down on the prophet’s ¹  bed. She shut the door behind her and left.

If she is a wall, ¹  we will build on her a battlement ²  of silver; but if she is a door, we will barricade ³  her with boards ⁴  of cedar. ⁵ 

So many gathered that there was no longer any room, not even by ¹  the door, and he preached the word to them.

Now when I arrived in Troas ¹  to proclaim the gospel of Christ, even though the Lord had opened ²  a door of opportunity ³  for me,

Once ¹  the head of the house ²  gets up ³  and shuts the door, then you will stand outside and start to knock on the door and beg him, ‘Lord, ⁴  let us in!’ ⁵  But he will answer you, ⁶  ‘I don’t know where you come from.’ ⁷ 

But Simon Peter was left standing outside by the door. So the other disciple who was acquainted with the high priest came out and spoke to the slave girl who watched the door, ¹  and brought Peter inside.

There was a chamber with its door by the porch of the gate; ¹  there they washed the burnt offering.

So Jesus said to them again, “I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  I am the door for the sheep. ² 

Now Peter continued knocking, and when they opened the door ¹  and saw him, they were greatly astonished. ² 

then his master must bring him to the judges, ¹  and he will bring him to the door or the doorposts, and his master will pierce his ear with an awl, and he shall serve him forever. ² 

After him Baruch son of Zabbai worked on another section, from the buttress to the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.

After him Meremoth son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, worked on another section from the door of Eliashib’s house to the end of it. ¹ 

There were entrances from the side chambers toward the open area, one entrance toward the north, and another entrance toward the south; the width of the open area was 8¾ feet ¹  all around.

He brought me to the entrance of the court, and as I watched, I noticed a hole in the wall.

Its length was 175 feet ¹  on the north side, ²  and its width 87½ feet. ³ 

“Ask ¹  and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door ²  will be opened for you.

For everyone who asks ¹  receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
