So they asked, “Who from all the Israelite tribes did not assemble before the Lord at Mizpah?” Now it just so happened no one from Jabesh Gilead had come to the gathering. ¹ 

So I gave orders, ¹  and it was determined ²  that this city from long ago has been engaging in insurrection against kings. It has continually engaged in ³  rebellion and revolt.

They discovered written in the law that the LORD had commanded through ¹  Moses that the Israelites should live in temporary shelters during the festival of the seventh month,

‘I know your works as well as your ¹  labor and steadfast endurance, and that you cannot tolerate ²  evil. You have even put to the test ³  those who refer to themselves as apostles (but are not), and have discovered that they are false.

And you must not go up by steps to my altar, so that your nakedness is not exposed.’ ¹ 

The woman conceived and then sent word to David saying, “I’m pregnant.”

“Yes, God is great – beyond our knowledge! ¹  The number of his years is unsearchable.

Look, we heard about it ¹  in Ephrathah, ²  we found it in the territory of Jaar. ³ 

The Lord said to me, “The people of Judah and the citizens of Jerusalem have plotted rebellion against me! ¹ 

They have sex with their father’s wife within you; ¹  they violate women during their menstrual period within you. ² 

You were blameless in your behavior ¹  from the day you were created, until sin was discovered in you.

When he found a pearl of great value, he went out and sold everything he had and bought it.

Now ¹  they had forgotten to take bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat.

When the governor ¹  had read ²  the letter, ³  he asked ⁴  what province he was from. ⁵  When he learned ⁶  that he was from Cilicia, ⁷ 

But all things being exposed by the light are made evident.

I discovered this: ¹  More bitter than death is the kind of ²  woman ³  who is like a hunter’s snare; ⁴  her heart is like a hunter’s net and her hands are like prison chains. The man who pleases God escapes her, but the sinner is captured by her.

Later Reuben returned to the cistern to find that Joseph was not in it! ¹  He tore his clothes,

Joseph said to them, “What did you think you were doing? ¹  Don’t you know that a man like me can find out things like this by divination?” ² 

In the middle of the night he was startled ¹  and turned over. ²  Now ³  he saw a woman ⁴  lying beside him! ⁵ 

When the messengers came, they found only the idol on the bed and the quilt made of goat’s hair at its head.
