Men bow down to them in homage, they lie flat on the ground in worship. ¹  Don’t spare them! ² 

Now ¹  people were bringing little children to him for him to touch, ²  but the disciples scolded those who brought them. ³ 

But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why are you bothering her? She has done a good service for me.

Many of them were saying, “He is possessed by a demon and has lost his mind! ¹  Why do you listen to him?”

¹ Why do you insist on being battered? Why do you continue to rebel? ²  Your head has a massive wound, ³  your whole body is weak. ⁴ 

“These people have denied what the Lord says. ¹  They have said, ‘That is not so! ²  No harm will come to us. We will not experience war and famine. ³ 

But he ¹  left behind in the land of Judah some of the poor people who owned nothing. He gave them fields and vineyards at that time.

Yet she increased her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth when she engaged in prostitution in the land of Egypt.

Very soon they will say, “We have no king since we did not fear the Lord. But what can a king do for us anyway?”

Don’t prophesy at Bethel ¹  any longer, for a royal temple and palace are here!” ² 

Then little children were brought to him for him to lay his hands on them and pray. ¹  But the disciples scolded those who brought them. ² 

yet because this widow keeps on bothering me, I will give her justice, or in the end she will wear me out ¹  by her unending pleas.’” ² 

Now people ¹  were even bringing their babies ²  to him for him to touch. ³  But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them. ⁴ 

Instead someone testified somewhere: “What is man that you think of him ¹  or the son of man that you care for him?

Take note of ¹  the field where the men ²  are harvesting and follow behind with the female workers. ³  I will tell the men ⁴  to leave you alone. ⁵  When you are thirsty, you may go to ⁶  the water jars ⁷  and drink some of the water ⁸  the servants draw.” ⁹ 

You must be loyal ¹  to your servant, for you have made a covenant with your servant in the Lord’s name. ²  If I am guilty, ³  you yourself kill me! Why bother taking me to your father?”

Do not be hostile toward them, because I am not giving you any of their land, not even a footprint, for I have given Mount Seir ¹  as an inheritance for Esau.

“El, God, the Lord! ¹  El, God, the Lord! He knows the truth! ²  Israel must also know! If we have rebelled or disobeyed the Lord, ³  don’t spare us ⁴  today!

Now the king of Syria had ordered his thirty-two chariot commanders, “Do not fight common soldiers or high-ranking officers; ¹  fight only the king of Israel.”

Elisha said, “As certainly as the Lord who rules over all ¹  lives (whom I serve), ²  if I did not respect King Jehoshaphat of Judah, ³  I would not pay attention to you or acknowledge you. ⁴
