I am appealing ¹  to you concerning my child, whose spiritual father I have become ²  during my imprisonment, ³  that is, Onesimus,

The one who loves his fellow Christian ¹  resides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. ² 

And the commandment we have from him is this: that ¹  the one who loves God should love his fellow Christian ²  too.

I was once young, now I am old. I have never seen a godly man abandoned, or his children ¹  forced to search for food. ² 

Jesus said to him, ¹  “Because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” ² 

let the one who believes in me drink. ¹  Just as the scripture says, ‘From within him ²  will flow rivers of living water.’” ³ 

Now there was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias. The ¹  Lord ²  said to him in a vision, “Ananias,” and he replied, “Here I am, ³  Lord.”

When he arrived in Jerusalem, ¹  he attempted to associate ²  with the disciples, and they were all afraid of him, because they did not believe ³  that he was a disciple.

Now in Joppa ¹  there was a disciple named Tabitha (which in translation means ²  Dorcas). ³  She was continually doing good deeds and acts of charity. ⁴ 

But the magician Elymas ¹  (for that is the way his name is translated) ²  opposed them, trying to turn the proconsul ³  away from the faith.

The jailer ¹  brought them into his house and set food ²  before them, and he rejoiced greatly ³  that he had come to believe ⁴  in God, together with his entire household. ⁵ 

Crispus, the president of the synagogue, ¹  believed in the Lord together with his entire household, and many of the Corinthians who heard about it ²  believed and were baptized.

Now receive the one who is weak in the faith, and do not have disputes over differing opinions. ¹ 

He must not be a recent convert or he may become arrogant ¹  and fall into the punishment that the devil will exact. ² 

no longer as a slave, ¹  but more than a slave, as a dear brother. He is especially so to me, and even more so to you now, both humanly speaking ²  and in the Lord.

Do not speak against one another, brothers and sisters. ¹  He who speaks against a fellow believer ²  or judges a fellow believer speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but its judge. ³ 

If ¹  anyone sees his fellow Christian ²  committing a sin not resulting in death, ³  he should ask, and God ⁴  will grant ⁵  life to the person who commits a sin not resulting in death. ⁶  There is a sin resulting in death. ⁷  I do not say that he should ask about that.

I say this to your shame! Is there no one among you wise enough to settle disputes between fellow Christians? ¹ 

A wife is bound as long as her husband is living. But if her husband dies, ¹  she is free to marry anyone she wishes (only someone in the Lord).

But we command you, brothers and sisters, ¹  in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from any brother who lives an undisciplined ²  life ³  and not according to the tradition they ⁴  received from us.
