Not counting women and children, there were about five thousand men who ate.

The manna stopped appearing the day they ate ¹  some of the produce of the land; the Israelites never ate manna again. ² 

The man said, “The woman whom you gave me, she gave ¹  me some fruit ²  from the tree and I ate it.”

So the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this ¹  you have done?” And the woman replied, “The serpent ²  tricked ³  me, and I ate.”

Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and lentil stew; Esau ate and drank, then got up and went out. ¹  So Esau despised his birthright. ² 

The bad-looking, thin cows ate the seven fine-looking, fat cows. Then Pharaoh woke up.

where for forty days he endured temptations ¹  from the devil. He ²  ate nothing ³  during those days, and when they were completed, ⁴  he was famished.

So all of them were encouraged and took food themselves.

When ¹  the woman saw that the tree produced fruit that was good for food, ²  was attractive ³  to the eye, and was desirable for making one wise, ⁴  she took some of its fruit and ate it. ⁵  She also gave some of it to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. ⁶ 

Now ¹  there were five thousand men ²  who ate the bread. ³ 

Then Jacob offered a sacrifice ¹  on the mountain and invited his relatives to eat the meal. ²  They ate the meal and spent the night on the mountain.

They ate some of the produce of the land the day after the Passover, including unleavened bread and roasted grain. ¹ 

I ate no choice food; no meat or wine came to my lips, ¹  nor did I anoint myself with oil ²  until the end of those three weeks.

John wore a garment made of camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. ¹
