Who can really fathom the intensity of your anger? ¹  Your raging fury causes people to fear you. ² 

Assyria, the club I use to vent my anger, is as good as dead, ¹  a cudgel with which I angrily punish. ² 

“Get out of Babylon, my people! Flee to save your lives from the fierce anger of the Lord! ¹ 

“I will heal their waywardness ¹  and love them freely, ²  for my anger will turn ³  away from them.

א (Alef) Alas! ¹  The Lord ²  has covered Daughter Zion ³  with his anger. ⁴  He has thrown down the splendor of Israel from heaven to earth; he did not protect ⁵  his temple ⁶  when he displayed his anger. ⁷ 

The Lord is compassionate and merciful; he is patient ¹  and demonstrates great loyal love. ² 

He does not always accuse, and does not stay angry. ¹ 

they would have swallowed us alive, when their anger raged against us.

When Israel joined themselves to Baal-peor, ¹  the anger of the Lord flared up against Israel.

And further, ¹  when you say that his anger does not punish, ²  and that he does not know transgression! ³ 

Do not be angry and frustrated! ¹  Do not fret! That only leads to trouble!

Correct us, Lord, but only in due measure. ¹  Do not punish us in anger or you will reduce us to nothing. ² 

I granted ¹  you a king in my anger, and I will take him away in my wrath!

You must put away every kind of bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, and evil, slanderous talk.

But now, put off all such things ¹  as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.

כ (Kaf) The Lord fully vented ¹  his wrath; he poured out his fierce anger. ²  He started a fire in Zion; it consumed her foundations. ³ 

Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has his anger stifled his compassion?”

A person’s wisdom ¹  makes him slow to anger, ²  and it is his glory ³  to overlook ⁴  an offense.

I will angrily seek vengeance on the nations that do not obey me.” ¹ 

Scatter abroad ¹  the abundance ²  of your anger. Look at every proud man ³  and bring him low;
