This is the one about whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is greater than I am, ¹  because he existed before me.’

The one who eats ¹  my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. ² 

The doorkeeper ¹  opens the door ²  for him, ³  and the sheep hear his voice. He ⁴  calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. ⁵ 

I am telling you this now, ¹  before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe ²  that I am he. ³ 

For all who have sinned apart from the law ¹  will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

on the day when God will judge ¹  the secrets of human hearts, ²  according to my gospel ³  through Christ Jesus.

For the wisdom of this age is foolishness with God. As it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness.” ¹ 

When any of you has a legal dispute with another, does he dare go to court before the unrighteous rather than before the saints?

Each competitor must exercise self-control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.

For the one who eats and drinks without careful regard ¹  for the body eats and drinks judgment against himself.

to finish what you started, ¹  so that just as you wanted to do it eagerly, ²  you can also complete it ³  according to your means. ⁴ 

because the service of this ministry is not only providing for ¹  the needs of the saints but is also overflowing with many thanks to God.

Blessed ¹  is ²  the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed ³  us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ.

So it was necessary for the sketches ¹  of the things in heaven to be purified with these sacrifices, ²  but the heavenly things themselves required ³  better sacrifices than these.

And every priest stands day after day ¹  serving and offering the same sacrifices again and again – sacrifices that can never take away sins.

But my righteous one will live by faith, and if he shrinks back, I ¹  take no pleasure in him. ² 

And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, ¹  for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

and he himself is the atoning sacrifice ¹  for our sins, and not only for our sins but also for the whole world. ² 

or when a person swears an oath, speaking thoughtlessly ¹  with his lips, whether to do evil or to do good, with regard to anything which the individual might speak thoughtlessly in an oath, even if he did not realize it, but he himself has later come to know it and is guilty with regard to one of these oaths ²  –

When a man is newly married, he need not go into ¹  the army nor be obligated in any way; he must be free to stay at home for a full year and bring joy to ²  the wife he has married.
